In Egypt, more than half of men over 40 have been forced to resort to illegal drugs to acquire the drug Viagra, according to a report by The New York Times.
The drug is commonly used in some of the world’s biggest pharmaceutical companies to treat erectile dysfunction (ED), but the drug is also a potential health concern for some patients, according to the report.
The report, published in The Guardian, found that of 4,000 Egyptian men who were prescribed Viagra for sexual dysfunction at some point in their lives, 2,000 were still not satisfied with their experience.
A total of 7,900 men had suffered injuries as a result of taking the drug. The report says the drug was prescribed to more than 2.4 million patients worldwide, but only 4,500 of them were satisfied with their treatment experience.
“Many of these patients did not even know they were taking it,” Dr. Shabana Abdel-Nasser, an Egyptian specialist in urology and endocrinology, told the Times.
Dr. Abdel-Nasser, a clinical professor of medicine at Cairo University, said the drug had the potential to have a negative impact on his patients. “The drug was approved by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) in 2001, and it was not a major player in the field of ED treatment.”
Another aspect of the study was that there was a high rate of sexual dysfunction among men who took the drug. The study found that only 3 percent of the patients were able to engage in sexual activity with their partner, and it was found that only half of the patients who took the drug reported a loss of interest.
The study also found that only 1 percent of the patients were able to perform satisfactory sexual intercourse.
The report said that a significant proportion of these patients suffered from serious side effects, including blood pressure and heart failure, which may be a result of taking the drug or taking certain other medications, such as nitrates.
“Patients who experienced these side effects had a higher risk of developing severe side effects of the drug than those who did not experience them,” the authors said.
Abdel-Nasser added that while the drug was approved by the FDA in Egypt and the United States in 2001, he said that the FDA had no jurisdiction over this subject.
The U. S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) is investigating whether Viagra might have a negative impact on the treatment of erectile dysfunction, and a recent report from The Times found that it did.
The drug was first approved by the FDA in January 2002, and it remains a controversial topic of debate among both sides of the aisle. The FDA has been criticized for approving Viagra in several other countries and has also issued warnings about its safety.
The FDA has yet to issue a ruling on the use of Viagra in patients with cardiovascular disease.
Abdel-Nasser said that while the drug was a potential health hazard, it was not a drug that was approved in Egypt in the past. “The FDA will not change the fact that Viagra is a legitimate product,” he said.
The Times found that the drug was given to patients by their doctor in an effort to get them to take the drug, rather than by a doctor in the United States. “It is very important to have a doctor who will give you this drug if you need it,” Dr. Abdel-Nasser told the Times.
According to the report, the U. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has not yet approved the drug in Egypt. “The FDA will not change the fact that Viagra is a legitimate product,” Dr. Abdel-Nasser said.
The Times said that the FDA’s decision to allow the drug to be sold in Egypt was made after a series of investigations. It said that the FDA’s decision was based on a “concern that the drug may have been used in Egypt in some ways.”
The FDA’s Office of Dietary and Health Products (ODHP) is reviewing whether the drug should be sold in Egypt. According to the ODOH, the FDA has no jurisdiction over ODOP’s data.
The FDA will not approve the sale of Viagra in Egypt, but it will need to conduct further investigation and regulatory action.
“The FDA is committed to ensuring that patients receive safe and effective treatment for their erectile dysfunction,” said ODOH director Dr. Richard G. Lechleiter.
